EXCEPTION_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION

Problem

When starting Genesis, it crashes. An hs_err_pid*.log file is written and the error is
EXCEPTION_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION (0xc000001d)
Problematic frame:
C [d3d9.dll+0xacd21]

Solution

The problem is related to your graphics configuration, which is incompatible with Java. From other users reports, this is related to the program “Rivatuner”, which needs to be disabled to run more graphical complex Java applications.
