Problem

MSI installation fails with the message "Genesis setup wizard ended prematurely"

When checking the Event Viewer, you see an error code 1603

Solution

Make sure that the installer has permission to write to your system drive (C:) or perhaps try to install as administrator (usually not necessary).

A german player solved this like this:

Im Eventviewer war die Lösung, Fehler 1603 stand da und der kann u.a. mit Rechten für SYSTEM zusammenhängen. Ich habe auf dem Ziellaufwerk SYSTEM Vollzugriff gegeben, dann lief's auch mit der Installation (ohne irgendwelche besonderen Aufrufe). Anscheinend braucht das der MSI-Installer.
