SpyHunter considers Genesis to be adware or malware

SpyHunter considers Genesis to be adware or malware

Problem

During installation, the SpyHunter antivirus/antimalware captures and stops the creation of the adware.genesis and genesis.offers portions. No .EXE files are created and thus the shortcuts do not work.

Cause

Genesis dynamically updates and loads code on start-up. Anti-Malware tools like SpyHunter often consider this to be an indicator of malware or adware and block the installation or execution of the code.

Solution

Define an exception in your Anti-Malware software. E.g. in SpyHunter you can create the directory manually and add it to an exception list.

I had to manually create a "Genesis" folder in the appdata area and then make that folder excluded in the virus scan operation. Did that and the shortcuts were properly created and I didn't get the blocking alert.
